Important Notice on USB Flash Memory

Depending on the type of USB flash memory utilized, there is the possibility the PD606 operation can become unstable when plugging the USB flash memory into the USB HOST port. Due to the fact that there is no unified standard defined for USB flash memory, specifications do vary between manufacturers and their USB flash memory products.

USB flash memory with an added ™gsecurity™h feature is getting more popularin the market place. This type of flash memory is designed solely for use on PC / Macintosh platforms and is not likely suitable for use with the PD606.

Another issue we confirmed with the PD606 with V1.30 software is; a copied file from the HDD to the USB flash memory can contain some random noise. Users can be assured that the original files on the HDD are not affected with noise in any way. Only the copied file may possibly exhibit artifacts.

We are currently in the process to immediately rectify these problems. For the time being, we suggest you proceed cautiously if you use USB flash memory. Another temporary solution is to go back to V1.20 until we resolve the issue.

You can downgrade the software by using the same procedure as updating the software.

DV824 Firmware Update
By updating the firmware for model 8370, USB/Firewire card, DV824 now allows you to mount the internal HD (model 9057/9058) on your PC or Mac via USB2.0 or Firewire in addition to the DVD media. This new function will considerably save time to transfer data recorded on the HD.
